《园丁》讲述了埃尔默和他控制欲极强的母亲拉希纳·茹拉多的故事。茹拉多经营着一个花园中心，背后隐藏着另一项蓬勃发展的地下雇佣谋杀生意。杀人对埃尔默来说轻而易举，一场事故让他变得麻木不仁。然而，在策划谋杀迷人的幼儿园老师维奥莱特时，他爱上了对方。埃尔默必须学会爱，而他的母亲则想尽一切办法结束维奥莱特的生命。
